Statement from Secretary of State Jena Griswold on Trump Effort to Pardon Tina Peters

Denver, December 11, 2025 - Today, Donald Trump posted to Truth Social that he is pardoning Tina Peters. Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold has issued the following statement:

"Tina Peters was convicted by a jury of her peers for state crimes in a state Court. Trump has no constitutional authority to pardon her. His assault is not just on our democracy, but on states' rights and the American constitution."
