Democrat Mark Williams makes ballot in CD 2
DENVER, April 13, 2018 -- Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams announced today that Mark Williams, the former Boulder County Democratic Party chairman, successfully petitioned onto the ballot for the open seat in Congressional District 2.
Here are Williams' numbers:
- Required: 1,000
- Turned in: 1,909
- Rejected: 573
- Accepted: 1,336
March 20 was the deadline for candidates who planned to petition onto the ballot to turn in their signatures to the Secretary of State's office. In all, 45 candidates submitted petitions although some were withdrawn because the candidate got on the ballot through the assembly before the review process was completed.
Our office issues a news release after a candidate's signature review is completed, and also updates a list of petition candidates posted on the Secretary of State's web page.
