Google executive to provide keynote at Go Code Colorado final competition
Patrick Ryan will speak at May 9 event
Denver, Colorado, May 6, 2014 - Secretary of State Scott Gessler announced today that Google, Inc.'s Strategy and Operations Principal Patrick Ryan will provide the keynote address for the Go Code Colorado Final Competition event on May 9. Google is the headline sponsor for Go Code Colorado 2014.
"Google has been an important partner in making this first Go Code Colorado challenge a success," Secretary Gessler said. "Certainly, having Google’s horsepower behind our efforts speaks to the project’s innovation and importance. We are excited for Patrick to make our Final Competition even more powerful."
Go Code Colorado is the first competition of its kind in the United States that uses public data to build business tools and grow commerce. Go Code Colorado will present $50,000 in prize money to the top three finishers in the app challenge.

Patrick Ryan led the global policy strategy for various aspects of Internet governance, and developed the policy strategy for cloud computing platform. Ryan maintains an affiliation with the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he was previously the Faculty Director for the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program. Prior to joining Google, Ryan was a lawyer in private practice and advised companies on the deployment of next-generation networks, international investment and intellectual property. Ryan, a native Coloradan, commutes between Denver and Mountain View, California.
