Tom Tancredo petition for governor deemed sufficient
DENVER, April 9, 2014 – Today Deputy Secretary of State Suzanne Staiert announced Tom Tancredo’s petition to appear on the Republican primary ballot for governor was found sufficient as required by statute. Primary Election Day is June 24.
On March 27, 2014, Tancredo submitted 16,634 petition signatures to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State’s office began an immediate line-by-line review of the signatures. Tancredo was required to gather 1,500 valid signatures from each of Colorado’s seven congressional districts for a total of 10,500 valid signatures.
Secretary of State Scott Gessler formally delegated authority over the petition verification process to Deputy Secretary Staiert.
