GoVoteColorado.com gets a new look
Gessler reminds voters to be prepared for upcoming election
Denver, September 8, 2011 – With the odd-year election less than two months away, Secretary of State Scott Gessler released an updated voter information portal for Coloradans at GoVoteColorado.com. The improved site acts as an information clearinghouse for both domestic and overseas voters.
“We’ve expanded the site from simply an online voter registration tool to an informative voter guide,” Gessler said. “For those voters who moved or have questions about the upcoming election, GoVoteColorado.com serves as a one-stop shop for voting in Colorado. My aim is to reduce election complexity and increase participation.”
With a state issued ID card, citizens can use the new site to: register to vote; update their voter registration; request a mail ballot; or find their polling place. The site also connects voters with current ballot language, campaign finance searches and overseas voter information.
Since its introduction in April 2010, 122,697 people used GoVoteColorado.com to register online. Additionally, the site’s web traffic spiked last October drawing over 200,000 web visits during the month.
All Colorado voters will see one statewide issue on the ballot along with other local races depending on their jurisdiction. Colorado will hold its 2011 election on Tuesday, November 1, a week earlier than the rest of the country. Voters can visit GoVoteColorado.com or contact their county clerk to see if their county is conducting an all-mail election or one with polling places.
