Gessler sworn in as Colorado Secretary of State
Denver, January 11, 2011 – After taking the oath to become Colorado’s 37th Secretary of State, Scott Gessler made the following statement:
“It’s an honor to serve the people of Colorado, and after two months of transition planning I am ready to get to work.” Gessler said. “I am grateful for outgoing Secretary Buescher’s help and graciousness during this transition, and I wish him well.”
“Coming from a small business background in the private sector, my goal is to keep the office running efficiently while always looking for ways to serve Colorado’s businesses better. The Secretary of State’s office is the first stop for businesses in Colorado, and we will do our part to help small businesses get Coloradans back to work. And I look forward to working with Governor Hickenlooper and the General Assembly to improve the Colorado Business Express.
“Finally, I look forward to cooperating with election officials and the public to build on past successes. Colorado’s voters deserve the highest integrity and accountability in our elections.”
