Buescher delivers “Top 10 in 2010”
Denver, October 26, 2010 – With a week left in the election, Secretary of State Bernie Buescher provided the following 10 reminders for voters:
- Just because you received a mail ballot for the primary, doesn’t mean you’ll automatically receive one for the November election, unless you’re a permanent mail voter. Check your status at GoVoteColorado.com.
- After Friday, don’t put your mail ballot in the mail. Hand deliver it to a drop-off location. Ballots returned after 7:00 pm on Election Day will not be counted.
- Sign the back of your return envelope for your mail ballot.
- Review your paper ballot for stray marks or mistakes before casting it. If necessary, request a replacement ballot from your county clerk.
- Make sure you have proper identification with you when voting at the polls.
- Don’t expect to make your mind up in the voting booth. Come prepared with a list or sample ballot of how you will be voting.
- Don’t wear anything referencing a candidate, ballot issue or your party affiliation at the polls.
- Don’t discuss a candidate or ballot issue within 100 feet of your polling location.
- Find out where your polling location is before Election Day by going to GoVoteColorado.com.
- Cast a provisional ballot if you do not appear on the voter rolls. All provisional ballots are entered into the official count after they are verified.
