Denver, October 16, 2008 – Today, Secretary of State Mike Coffman responded to a press conference held by various voter registration groups:
“Voter confidence and protecting the integrity of the election are my top priorities as Secretary of State,” said Coffman. “The training offered by my office is clear and consistent when addressing this particular issue. Currently, there are over 22,000 incomplete voter registration forms lacking a signature, date of birth or other relevant information, of which 6,449 failed to affirm they did not have a driver’s license. My office training stresses the importance of correctly filling out the voter registration forms.”
County clerks are continuing to reach out to the incomplete voter registration forms to ensure they can fix any deficiencies prior to Election Day. Those that still have incomplete status on Election Day can still vote a provisional ballot.
