Coffman and Clerks Statements Regarding Withdrawal of Support From SB-189

March 19, 2008 - “Voters can rest assured that the certification process was rigorous and comprehensive and ensures that each voting system is secure and can accurately count every vote,” said Secretary of State Mike Coffman. “I have the utmost confidence in our County Clerks to successfully perform the jobs they were elected to do and have done for years.”

“The Clerks Association has been consistent in requesting a common sense approach to conducting safe, secure and accurate elections in Colorado this year. We appreciate the sponsors’ recognition of the administrative risks involved and the severity of an unfunded mandate to Colorado counties,” said Nancy Amick, President of the County Clerks Association.
