Amendment #45 Withdrawn From Ballot by Proponents

Denver CO, August 22, 2006 – Today Secretary of State Gigi Dennis received a letter from the proponents for Amendment #45 concerning “Domestic Partnerships” to have the proposed ballot question removed from the ballot.

Pursuant to C.R.S. 1-40-134, proponents of an initiative petition may withdraw the petition from consideration as a ballot issue by filing a letter with the Secretary of State requesting that the petition not be placed on the ballot.

Below is a list of proposed ballot initiatives that will appear on the November 7 General Election Ballot:

  • Amendment #38 – Petitions
  • Amendment #39 – School District Expenditures for Education
  • Amendment #40 – Term Limits on Court of Appeals and Supreme Court Judges
  • Amendment #41 – Ethics in Government
  • Amendment #42 – Colorado Minimum Wage
  • Amendment #43 – Marriage
  • Amendment #44 – Marijuana Possession

In addition, the following Referendums will appear on the November ballot:

  • E - SCR 06-001 - Extension of Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans
  • F - SCR 05-005 - Removing Recall Timelines from the Constitution
  • G - SCR 06-002 - Elimination of Obsolete Constitutional Provisions
  • H - HB 06S-1020 - Unauthorized Alien Labor Tax Deduction
  • I - HB 06-1344 - Domestic Partnerships
