The Secretary of State's Office Reminds Citizens About the November 1, 2005 Election Date

Denver, September 30, 2005 - The Colorado Secretary of State"s Office asks citizens to update their calendars to reflect the accurate date for the 2005 odd-year election. The 2005 odd-year election will be held on November 1.

Pursuant to Article 10, Section 20, Subsection 3 of the Colorado Constitution, ballot issues shall be decided in a state general election on the first Tuesday in November of odd-numbered years.

"We want to make sure citizens do not let the 2005 odd-year election date pass them by," Secretary of State Gigi Dennis said. "I encourage all registered electors to get out and vote this November 1."

Many pre-printed 2005 calendars incorrectly show the second Tuesday in November as Election Day.
