Lobbying firms

Q1. What is a lobbying firm?

A1. A lobbying firm is a person or entity employing one or more professional lobbyists to lobby on behalf of a client that is not the person or entity. “Lobbying firm” includes a self-employed professional lobbyist. See section 24-6-301(3.6), C.R.S.

Q2. Are lobbying firms required to report monthly disclosure statements?

A2. Yes, lobbying firms are required to report monthly disclosure statements.

Q3. What if I am a sole proprietor and I am the only professional lobbyist employed by my lobbying firm, do I have to file multiple disclosure statements?

A3. No, a single disclosure statement may be filed with the Secretary of State on behalf of both the professional lobbyist and the lobbying firm.
