The title as designated and fixed by the Board is as follows:
An amendment to the Colorado constitution concerning the display of religious texts and symbols on public property, and, in connection therewith, stating that displays of religious texts or symbols for educational, historical, or secular purposes shall not be an unconstitutional use of public property; stating that nothing in the state or federal constitution shall be construed to prohibit such displays of religious texts or symbols; prohibiting any interpretation of this amendment that conflicts with existing state or federal law or that allows the display of the Ten Commandments on public school property unless existing law is changed; and specifying that such displays of religious texts or symbols shall not be construed to indicate government support, approval, or sanction of the contents of such displays or as the promotion or establishment of or the preference for any religious belief or religion.
