TXT2Cure FAQs

Versión en Español

Q1. What is TXT2Cure?

A1. The Secretary of State provides the TXT2Cure system so that Colorado voters can use their mobile phones to submit the additional information necessary to resolve problems with (or “cure”) their mail ballots and ensure they are counted.

Q2. Who can use the TXT2Cure system?

A2. Voters whose mail ballots are rejected due to a missing or discrepant signature, or failure to enclose a photocopy of an acceptable form of ID with their ballot, if required, may use TXT2Cure to resolve those issues and ensure their ballots are counted.

Q3. What information do I need to use TXT2Cure?

A3. To use the TXT2Cure system, voters will need their Voter ID number (VID) and an acceptable form of identification. That information is contained in the letter that qualifying voters will receive from their clerk and recorder.

Q4. Can I use the TXT2Cure system before I receive the ballot rejection letter from my clerk and recorder?

A4. Yes. You can obtain your Voter ID number by logging into Colorado’s online voter registration system at GoVoteColorado.gov, and go here for a complete list of acceptable forms of identification.

Q5. How do I access the TXT2Cure system?

A5. There are two ways to access the TXT2Cure system:

If you have a mobile phone with a US phone number, text the word COLORADO to the number 28683. You will receive a single text message in reply with a secure 2vote.mobi web link. Tap the link to open the TXT2Cure website.

If you do NOT have a mobile phone with a US phone number, open a web browser and go to https://txt2vote.2vote.mobi/colorado_votes

*Standard messaging rates apply. You will receive only one message. We will NOT sell, rent, trade or exchange your mobile number or information.

Q6. I have accessed the TXT2Cure website. How do I cure my voted ballot?

A6. Access the TXT2Cure website (see Q5 above)

  1. Click the Cure My Ballot button
  2. Enter your Voter ID number, click Submit
  3. Check the box to indicate that you returned your voted ballot, click Submit
  4. Sign in the box using your full legal signature, click Submit
  5. Click the Take or Upload a Photo button. Ensure that the photo of your acceptable form of ID is clear, then select Use Photo.
