IRS Announces New Tool for Checking Charity Information

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced a new online search tool to help users find information about federal tax-exempt organizations. Using this new tool, you can check if an organization:

  • Is eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions (Publication 78 data)
  • Has had its federal tax exemption automatically revoked for not filing returns or notices
  • Has filed a federal Form 990-N (e-Postcard)

See the IRS announcement for more details.
