Searches Related to the U.S. Treasury Auto Supplier Support Program

4/30/2009 11:21 AM

The U.S. Treasury has announced a new “Auto Supplier Support Program” to provide assurances to suppliers of the auto industry. The program provides that these suppliers will have their receivables guaranteed by the U.S. Government under certain provisions.

I have announced this morning that the Department of State has been developing ways to cooperate with participants in the “Auto Supplier Program”. Information regarding the Program is accessible on the U.S. Treasury website, www.treas.gov/press/releases/docs/supplier_support_program_3_18.pdf. To make the program as easy for Colorado suppliers, I have directed that issuance of search reports, including certified reports, required in connection with the Program be expedited. While regular fees will apply, no “expedite fee” will be charged for this service.

Anyone needing a Program-related search report regarding an auto supplier and the status of secured transaction and certain other liens encumbering the auto supplier’s receivables may contact Judy Steele in the Business Division of the Secretary of State’s Office. Her direct line is 303-869-4926 and her email address is judy.steele@sos.state.co.us. In addition to a completed search request form (accessible at www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/pdf/UCC11.pdf ), the inquirer must provide contact information so that the Division may expedite the request.

At the Secretary of State’s direction, such requests will be processed expeditiously. Additional contact information for the Business Division is available on its website, www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/main.htm.

Sincerely,

Bernie Buescher
Secretary of State
State of Colorado
