Description of Subjects/Issues |
The purpose of this rulemaking hearing is for the Executive Director to consider adopting the proposed revisions to Rule 4.105(A), which updates the income amounts to the current 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). The updated FPG will be used to determine low-income eligibility for families applying for the Colorado Universal Preschool Program (UPK) during the 2025-2026 school year. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
The purpose of the Executive Director adopting revisions to the Colorado Universal Preschool Program's (UPK) Rule 4.105 was to establish the 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) as the standard for determining the poverty and low-income status of families applying for UPK during the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, the revisions introduce separate income eligibility charts for the current (2024-2025) and upcoming (2025-2026) school year, to clearly distinguish the applicable FPG that will be used to assess eligibility for additional preschool hours. |
